Everything enters your vault through the + button beside the island. Tap it and you'll see six choices: Take Photo, Photo Library, Import Documents, Record Audio, New Note and New Folder. This guide takes the first four in turn, so you know which one to reach for.
Take Photos and Videos Inside the Vault
- 1Tap + and choose Take Photo.
- 2Take a photo or record a video.
- 3It's encrypted and saved in the vault. Nothing is saved to your phone's gallery.
The in-app camera is the cleanest way to keep something private, because there's no other copy to clean up afterwards.
Import From Your Photo Library
- 1Tap + and choose Photo Library.
- 2Pick the photos and videos you want to move.
- 3Wait while each one is encrypted, then decrypted again and compared with the original. Only then does it count as imported.
Importing makes an encrypted copy. The original stays in your gallery until you delete it, so HypaVault offers to remove the originals afterwards and explains how. Delete them in your Photos or gallery app, empty Recently Deleted, and check any cloud photo backup, which may still hold copies. On iPhone, Recently Deleted keeps photos for 30 days unless you empty it.
Add Documents and Any Other File
Import Documents takes any file: PDFs, documents, spreadsheets, archives, anything. Files land in the Files tab, where each type keeps its own colour and icon, and the viewer opens PDFs and text right inside the vault.
Record Audio Straight Into the Vault
Record Audio opens a full-screen recorder with a large timer and a live waveform. Pause and resume whenever you need to, then name the recording and save it.
Already have recordings? Import Audio brings in audio files, and the Audio tab plays one clip at a time, with a scrubber.
Notes and Folders Come Next
New Note and New Folder are on the same menu. Notes, seed phrases and folders each have a guide of their own. Whatever you add, every change saves completely or not at all, and an interrupted import is rolled back the next time the app opens.
