Duress Passcode for When You're Forced to Unlock

If someone forces you to unlock your phone, a normal lock screen protects nothing. HypaVault's duress passcode unlocks like normal while, in one silent step, every other vault on the phone is erased.

Duress Passcode at a Glance

A duress passcode is a second HypaVault passcode for moments when someone forces you to unlock. Nothing on screen looks different: an empty vault opens while, in one silent step, every other vault's key is destroyed, so their files can never be decrypted again. A backup and its recovery phrase bring an erased vault back later. Entered by mistake, it erases just the same, so use it only when you must.

What Duress Passcode Does

Looks Like a Normal Unlock

Nothing on screen looks different. An empty vault opens, set aside for this when you turned the duress passcode on, with no sign that duress was used.

Erased in One Silent Step

Every other vault's key is destroyed, so its files can never be decrypted again. The files are then deleted in the background.

Backups Still Work

A backup and its recovery phrase bring an erased vault back, so keep a recent backup of each vault somewhere off the phone.

How to Use Duress Passcode
