01Who Writes Here
Every post and guide has a named author, and both authors are co-founders of the company behind HypaVault: Siddharth Pereira and Lisa Noronha. Each byline links to a page with their background and everything they have written here.
02Where Our Facts Come From
What we say about HypaVault comes from how the app itself works. Feature pages, guides and help articles describe what the app does, and we say so plainly when it can't do something, such as restoring a vault when both the passcode and the recovery phrase are lost.
What we say about the wider world, such as how phones get lost or how long a passcode takes to guess, comes from outside sources. We link only to pages that count as authoritative:
- Standards bodies and government agencies, such as NIST and CISA.
- The documentation that phone and app makers publish themselves, such as Apple and Google help pages.
- Established security research and reporting.
We open every page before we link to it, and each post lists its sources under References.
03How a Post Is Built
- Key Takeaways come first, so the answer arrives before the detail.
- Sections and subsections carry descriptive headings you can scan.
- Two figures per post are designed from the numbers the post cites.
- Sources are listed at the end, and questions readers ask are answered below them.
The photographs on the site are stock photographs chosen to illustrate a topic. They don't show HypaVault customers.
04How We Write About Other Apps
Comparison pages are written by HypaVault, and they say so. They follow fixed rules:
- Every statement comes from the other app's own store listing, website or public reviews.
- Each comparison shows its sources and the date its facts were checked.
- Points that come only from reviews are written as what reviewers report.
- Anything no source states is marked Not stated.
- An app's own icon appears only to identify it, and every comparison says HypaVault is not affiliated with the app.
05Keeping Content Current
A post or guide shows the date it was published and, once we've revised it, the date it was updated. When something about the app changes, or a source we cite changes, we revise the page and update its date.
06Corrections
If you find a mistake, write to mail@hypavault.com with the page and what you found. We'll correct the page and update its date. Please never include a passcode or recovery phrase in a message: we can't use them and will never ask for them.
07Independence
HypaVault carries no advertising and never sells information about you. It's paid for by the people who choose Pro, so this site has no sponsored posts and no paid placements for other products.
We write about privacy and about how HypaVault works, not about other apps. Comparison pages are the one exception, and they follow the rules above.
