Why These Checks Matter
Four facts behind the tools, each from the source that published it.
Length Beats Complexity
NIST's digital identity guidelines say a password used on its own should be at least 15 characters, and tell services not to force mixes of character types. CISA recommends at least 16 random characters, different for every account.

Photos Can Carry Your Location
A photo taken with location turned on can record where it was taken, and sharing apps may pass that location along unless you turn it off. Removing metadata before you share takes the question away.

Seed Phrase Screenshots Get Stolen
In 2025, Kaspersky researchers found malware in apps on Google Play and the App Store that scanned photo galleries for crypto recovery phrases using text recognition. A phrase kept as a screenshot is exactly what it looked for.

Phone Settings Change with Updates
Phones add privacy protections over time. On iPhone, Stolen Device Protection asks for Face ID or Touch ID, with no passcode fallback, for some actions when you're away from familiar places. It's only useful if it's on.
