Organise Your Vault Like a File Manager

Folders inside folders, views saved per folder, drag and drop, and a search that finds anything by name. Here's how to keep a growing vault tidy.

Before You Start

  • A vault with a few files in it

HypaVault's Files tab is a full file manager, so you can arrange a growing vault the way you would on a computer: folders inside folders, views saved per folder, and drag and drop. The Photos, Videos and Search screens help you find anything without digging.

Build Your Folders

  1. 1Tap + and choose New Folder.
  2. 2Open it, and add more folders inside if you like.
  3. 3Tap any part of the path to jump back up.

Folders are also drop targets: drag a file onto one to move it there.

Tap any item to open it full screen. Swipe between items, pinch to zoom up to 10×, and read PDFs and text without leaving the vault. Large videos stream piece by piece instead of being decrypted whole.

Choose How Each Folder Looks

View Options sets how a folder shows what's inside, and each folder remembers its own choice.

  • List or Icons, for details or a quick look.
  • Sort By name, date, size or type.
  • Select, for working with many items at once.

File types keep their own colours and icons, so a PDF (red) stands out from documents (blue) and spreadsheets (teal) at a glance.

Move, Copy and Rename

Move, copy, rename, share and delete work on one item or many. Choose Select in View Options to pick several, or drag items straight onto a folder.

Find Anything Fast

Photos and Videos show every photo or video in the vault, wherever it's filed, newest first and grouped by month. Pinch to change the grid size.

For everything else, Search finds anything in the open vault by name. Browse tiles jump to Folders, Photos & videos, Documents and Notes, and your recent items are listed too.

Share and Delete with Care

Share decrypts a copy of the file and hands it to your phone's share sheet. HypaVault warns you first, because that copy leaves the vault unprotected. The original stays encrypted inside.
