Back Up Your Vault

One encrypted .hypa file, checked before it's saved. Free on every plan.

Back Up Now saves a HypaVault vault as one encrypted .hypa file, checks that the file opens, and lets you keep it wherever you choose. Backups are free on every plan.

  1. 1Tap Back Up Now.
  2. 2HypaVault builds one encrypted .hypa file of the vault and checks that it opens.
  3. 3Save it wherever you like: Files, a drive, a computer or a cloud drive of your choice.

The backup opens only with the vault's recovery phrase. It carries no device, name or identity data, and its size is padded to a standard step so it says little about what's inside. It goes only where you save it.

Each backup holds one vault, so back up each vault you have. Keep the file somewhere off the phone, and make a fresh backup after adding things, because a backup can bring back only what it holds.

Questions About This Task

One encrypted .hypa file, checked before it's saved. Free on every plan.

  1. The .hypa file is encrypted on your phone and opens only with the vault's recovery phrase, so a cloud drive you choose can hold it. Keep the phrase somewhere else, since anyone with both can open the backup.

  2. Its size is padded to a standard step, so the file says little about how much is inside.

  3. Deleting the app, or clearing its data, permanently deletes everything stored in it on that phone. A backup kept off the phone, with its recovery phrase, is what brings the vault back.
