Why the lock screen sometimes makes you wait.
After 5 wrong passcode tries, HypaVault's lock screen waits 30 seconds before the next try. Each further miss doubles the wait, up to 1 hour. Recovery phrase tries are limited the same way.
If you've forgotten the passcode, guessing won't help. Use Forgot Passcode? with your recovery phrase instead, and check each word before you enter it.
The Stealth Mode disguises never say a try was wrong and never show a lockout.

One hour. The wait starts at 30 seconds after 5 wrong tries and doubles with each further miss until it reaches that cap.
No. Wrong tries only make the lock screen wait longer. The only passcode that erases vaults is a duress passcode, if you've set one.
